July 2, 2014 – Toronto, Canada

Woodland Park resort gets integrated license plate recognition, gated access, and cloud-based check-in and tracking.

LocoMobi Inc. is pleased to announce the installation of its VideoPark system at Woodland Park Resort in Sauble Beach, Ontario.  LocoMobi VideoPark is an advanced system for parking, access control and check-in utilizing the advanced and integrated capabilities of the license plate recognition (LPR) and real-time cloud-based management system.

Woodland park, the #1 rated campground resort in Canada, caters to high end campers who may wish to rent a condo style mobile home, RV sites and campgrounds. Being in close proximity to one of most beautiful and popular beaches in Canada, privacy and controlled access are the key to providing an enjoyable user experience.

The traditional method of access control is via proximity cards, but these are hard to control and can be passed around to unauthorized users. The key for secure access control is ensuring the actual car or truck is the registered vehicle allowed on the property. Since license plates are the true “DNA” of the vehicle, the LocoMobi VideoPark system tracks each vehicle in real time using the license plate recognition cameras and image processing system and grants access to the gated entryway only to the vehicles Woodland authorizes to access their resort area, while at the same time providing a complete record of each vehicle entering and exiting the facility.

In addition to safety and security, Woodland Park encompasses  960 lots, which translates to hundreds of  vehicle transactions per day,  so it is extremely important to ensure everything runs efficiently.

Vacationers can be registered via LocoMobi’s VideoPark Cloud Portal in advance of their visit.  This eliminates the need for patrons to stop and obtain an access card or tag, which eliminates line ups at the office, saving time for patrons and resort staff.

“Having one of the largest and most well known-facilities and  trendsetters in their industry  choose LocoMobi signifies another first for us, with many more locations to follow,” says Grant Furlane, Co-Founder and CEO of LocoMobi Inc.”

LocoMobi is currently deploying LPR systems in multiple resort campgrounds as it responds to demand from the market for this state of the art and affordable system.

LocoMobi To Install Integrated Parking System of the Future for First Time in North America

locomobi-freewaycam-400px

June 3, 2014 – Toronto, Canada

LocoMobi, Inc. is pleased to announce it has been contracted to install an integrated set of advanced technologies that have never been deployed in combination in North America. This includes a gated access and revenue control system featuring:

  • Pay On Foot System supporting credit and debit cards with Chip Pin and Bill and Coin handling and change making and license plate entry
  • Enhanced License Plate Recognition (LPR) at entry and exit for real-time inventor tracking and rate calculation
  • Virtual Permits
  • License Plate Express exit stations
  • Virtual merchant validation system
  • Mobile Payments
  • All systems integrated in a single cloud-based management portal

LocoMobi have several sites with many of these options but this site will be unique as they introduce both the new MOJO Xtreme Pay On Foot stations that offer more flexible payments types and change all based on entering the plate number into the machine and the first integrated deployment of mobile payments with LPR-based access control systems.

This deployment comes less than two months after the merger that saw Quickpay, one of the leading mobile payment providers for parking, acquire Nautical Technologies, the first company to develop and offer integrated LPR tracking with a revenue engine for pay machines via the cloud.

Springdale will incorporate 8 lanes of hardware that will allow a patron to enter via reading the vehicle plate and  causing the gate to open. Once the patron is ready to leave, they will proceed the Mojo Xtreme Pay On Foot station and simply enter their license plate number. The Mojo Xtreme will retrieve the entry time for that license plate, compute the fee based on rate logic defined in the cloud management portal, and display to the patron. Payment can be via Bill notes, Coins, Credit Card or Chip/Pin/ Debit Card. The Mojo Xtreme will offer change in Bill notes and Coins.

Upon payment the patron receives their receipt and simply returns to their vehicle and drives to the exit. The plate is read and gate opens upon validation of payment and allowed exit time. Should the patron’s time expire or they forget to pay at the pay on foot station there are Express Payment Mojo LPR stations at each exit.

A patron can also register one time using the QP QuickPay mobile payment app and thereafter they can bypass all of the pay stations since the same rate structures are mirrored on their mobile phone and they can pay simply by phone and the exit gate will open.

All permit parkers will have their plate registered and will also bypass the payment machines. All merchants will validate using the LocoMobi validation system which requires no stamps or tickets and records all validations in the same LocoMobi cloud management system.

In the event there needs to be enforcement, LocoMobi have taken care of this with their Ticketroid enforcement citation system which is updated in real time with all the plates, tracks violations and alerts enforcement staff and prepares citations for exactly the violating vehicles, dramatically reducing time spent patrolling facilities.

“It is incredible where technology has taken us. There are  many structures where  we deal with lost tickets, cardholder abuse and wasted patrols of our lots . We are truly excited at the closing of all the loopholes and creating more control,” says  Jack Pong, President and CEO of Citycore Development, one of the leading builders in the Toronto area.

Grant Furlane, President and Co-Founder of LocoMobi, adds “We are really pleased that our single cloud-based solution has started to really gain momentum and adoption.  With so many sites now using our systems we are proving its capabilities and increased controls at a fraction of the cost of more conventional machine readable ticket systems.”

“With this first integrated deployment, we take a major step in realizing our unified vision for the future of parking,” says Barney Pell, Co-Founder and Chairman of LocoMobi. “It is fitting that our first showcase is with a recognized visionary and award winning developer such as Citycore Development.”

About LocoMobi, Inc.

LocoMobi, Inc. is reinventing parking and transportation technology in the era of cloud, mobile, low-cost hardware and Internet of Things. LocoMobi was the very first to offer a cloud-based license plate recognition (LPR) system with a complete revenue engine that also provided a management system for virtual permitting systems, violation and citation management. The company also designed and implemented the first LPR-based system incorporating payment stations and barrier gates, which was integrated into a single cloud-based system.  A garage using a LocoMobi LPR system knows every vehicle that enters and exits and links all payments to the vehicle’s license plate. For parking owners and operators, this is of immense value as they have full knowledge of and receive payment from every single parker. The revenue gains after deploying a LocoMobi system can significantly increase the value of the parking asset. The company also designs and implements a complete suite of traditional parking systems including the conventional machine readable ticket systems and can combine them with license plate recognition as one single solution for places like airports.

LocoMobi’s Mobile payment application, QP Quickpay™, also complements any parking facility as an alternative to the payment station utilizing the same rate engine and cloud portal.

QP QuickPay can be used standalone, integrated with legacy hardware at low cost, or as part of a fully integrated LocoMobi system to deliver new value for drivers as well as parking owners and operators.

For drivers, the combination of LocoMobi’s QuickPay mobile technology and gate kit with LPR and product set leads to an ideal parking experience: a driver registers one time with the QP QuickPay app and enters his or her license plate and credit card. The driver then drives into a garage, LPR cameras recognize the vehicle and the gate opens automatically. When the driver is ready to leave, he or she drives to the exit gate, the LPR cameras recognize the car again, bill the credit card saved to the QP QuickPay account, the gates open and the driver exits–all in a matter of seconds.  A similar system works in non-gated scenarios as well. For owners and operators, LPR transactions can now be linked to registered drivers, enabling customer knowledge and communications.

LocoMobi’s product offerings are unique in their level of comprehensiveness, innovation, and price: installations typically have twice the functionality at approximately half the price of competitive systems. LocoMobi’s innovations have recently garnered worldwide attention when the Company was a winner of the award for 2014 TiE50 best new technology in the world, where over 2800 companies from 27 countries were considered. The awards were presented at the Annual TiE50 conference held in the Silicon Valley.

LocoMobi has partnerships with most of the major parking operators in the U.S. and Canada, and is deployed in parking garages and lots, hotels, malls and theme parks and on-street in major cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

About LocoMobi:

LocoMobi, Inc. the result of a recent merger between QuickPay (QP) and Nautical Technologies to reinvent parking and transportation technology in the era of cloud, mobile, low-cost hardware and Internet of Things.   QuickPay provides users a unified mobile payment application that works across all types of parking environments and scenarios. By integrating with a parking operator’s existing equipment, either through software-only integrations or via QuickPay’s proprietary gate kit, the company’s platform, QP QuickPay, empowers drivers to seamlessly enter and exit gated parking facilities, and to pay for parking virtually anywhere parking is provided (e.g. gated facilities, non-gated facilities and on-street). The process is fast and safe as drivers do not have to worry about having cash or running their credit cards through the system. QP QuickPay also gives drivers the ability to skip pay-station and cashier lines and proceed directly to an exit gate. The systems can also be set up to enable QP QuickPay users to exit via monthly-only gates, further speeding up time to exit. The entire parking transaction is handled by phone via the free QP QuickPay smartphone app, available for iPhone and Android, by SMS text, or by a simple phone call.  QuickPay also offers parking managers a way to track and reward frequent parkers. Every time consumers use QP QuickPay, they can earn valuable points toward future discounts and free parking.

Nautical Technologies was the very first to offer a cloud-based license plate recognition (LPR) system with a complete revenue engine that also provided a management system for virtual permitting systems, violation and citation management. The company also designed and implemented the first LPR-based system incorporating payment stations and barrier gates, which was integrated into a single cloud-based system.  A garage using a Nautical Technologies LPR system knows every vehicle that entersand exits and links all payments to the vehicle’s license plate.  For parking owners and operators, this is of immense value as they have full knowledge of and receive payment from every single parker, rather than losing an estimated 30% of the parking revenue due to errors and fraud. The revenue gains after deploying a Nautical Technologies LPR system can significantly increase the value of the parking asset.  The company also designs and implements a complete suite of traditional parking systems. Nautical Technologies’ product offerings are unique in their level of comprehensiveness, innovation, and price: installations typically have twice the functionality at approximately half the price of competitive systems.

The company is developing solutions that integrate both technology suites to deliver new value for drivers as well as parking owners and operators. For drivers, the combination of QuickPay’s mobile technology and gate kit with Nautical Technologies’ product set leads to an ideal parking experience: a driver registers one time with the QP QuickPay app and enters his or her license plate and credit card.
