Locomobi World Inc Teams Up with HOPA Ports to Launch Intelligent Vehicle Management System

For Immediate Release

Hamilton, ON, Canada – HOPA Ports and Locomobi World Inc. have kicked off a new project designed to improve the monitoring and flow of truck movements at HOPA’s port facilities. Supported in part by a federal program aimed at modernizing Canadian supply chains, the project will deploy an Intelligent Vehicle Management System, powered by Locomobi World Inc., to optimize the tens of thousands of truck movements at HOPA’s port properties each year.

"The vision of connecting data and vehicles has never changed," says Locomobi World Founder and CEO Grant Furlane. "We continue to lead with incredible AI-driven applications to connect the world," he added.

The project will use AI-enabled technology to monitor trucks as they enter and exit port properties. The system will track the number and types of trucks, monitor dwell times, and identify bottlenecks. "This initiative will deliver valuable insights that we can use to enhance operational processes, such as creating staging areas, improving scheduling, and proactively communicating with drivers," said Peter Hammerl, HOPA Ports’ Director of Information Technology.

HOPA Ports manages Ontario’s only integrated port network, with facilities in Hamilton, Oshawa, and Niagara. The implementation of Locomobi World's system at HOPA's port facilities is part of HOPA’s aim to leverage technology to deliver on its strategic goals. “This initiative will help us create value for port users by streamlining supply chains, while also improving the port’s overall environmental sustainability,” said Hammerl.
