Locomobi World Inc. and Humber College Awarded NSERC Funding for Mobi 2.0 Advanced Robot

For Immediate Release

Toronto, Ontario – Locomobi World Inc. is thrilled to announce that our collaborative project, "Enhancing LocoMobi Mobi 1: A Comprehensive Study and Optimization of Robot Navigation and Safety – Phase 2" with Humber College has been awarded funding by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). This prestigious grant underscores the hard work, dedication, and expertise of our team members who have been tirelessly working on this groundbreaking project.

Since October 2023, LocoMobi has engaged in a partnership with Humber College and their esteemed Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation. This 93,000-square-foot facility was designed to be a powerhouse of technological innovation. It leverages Humber’s proven leadership in areas such as Automation and Robotics, Systems Integration, Design, Augmented and Virtual Realities, and User Experience Testing.

Neal Mohammed, Director of Humber CIT, stated, “This award is a recognition of our collective effort and the innovative ideas we have brought forward. I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to everyone for your invaluable contributions.”

Locomobi World is recognized as a leader in Transportation Infrastructure. Mobi, our advanced robot, was designed for the enforcement and security of infrastructure, including law enforcement for citations and parking enforcement for cities and private operations. Mobi can also patrol streets and parking garages, monitor congestion, and assist pedestrians with interactive AI-driven voice capabilities. This collaboration involves participation in several government initiatives supporting SME development in Canada.

Grant Furlane, Founder and CEO of Locomobi World Inc., commented, “We are revolutionizing the use of autonomous robots with the vision of Canada being a hotspot for innovation using specialized robots to manage our infrastructure. This was an idea and dream I had 20 years ago, and now we are here.”
