We are pleased to announce that Erik Olsen, President of Rome Transportation will be the next guest speaker on TheSmartCity.Blog on June 15th, 2022 and will discuss The Importance of Smart Building Technology.

Erik is a downtown-core infill developer that enjoys creating things people didn’t believe possible. He likes maintaining the richness of his city’s history while creating modern living spaces for the future. By reducing our suburban footprint, condo developments literally make the world a better place for the future. 

Erik has a master’s degree in Philosophy from University of Waterloo and has been an entrepreneur for more than 25 years, creating logistics offices across North America.

Current career projects include developing 700 condo units in downtown Kitchener. The highlight for him is the opportunity to create hundreds of job opportunities and the kind of excellent living spaces residents are seeking.

Him and his wife have been married for 29 years and have two adult children leading successful lives, working in fields of their respective education and interest. He grew up on a farm outside of Kitchener-Waterloo in the Elora area. Locally, he can often be found on the Iron Horse trail, Victoria Park and Belmont village.
